FAQ Mycorrhizae

There are friends who ask about Mycorrhiza, the following question:

Assalaamu'alaikum wr br

Hi sir, I am Ahmad Suwardi ... I'm just starting to grow coffee and will start planting trees or albazia jabon in the next planting season. I am interested in arbuscular mycorrhizal and media. I am interested to buy it, but there are some things I want to ask:

1. Are Effective mycorrhiza on plants that are already planted.
(new planting 10 days ago) if you can how to apply
2. Whether a given coffee plant will quickly produce mycorrhizal
3. How to apply mycorrhizae in plant jabon / albazia to be planted.
4. What if the combined mycorrhizal with other fertilizers, how the comparison and what the most suitable fertilizer combination and how to apply.
5 Are the needs of mycorrhizae to plant coffee and jabon same?
6. What is the different between mycorrhizal and mycorrhizal media.
7. How much is it, how a minimum purchase, whether delivered?

I say thank you for your attention.

Wassalaamu'alaikum Wr. Wb.
Ahmad Suwardi

Answer the question:
Mycorrhizal fungi is a kind of symbiotic mutualism with the plant roots. It is said that, because of these symbiotic fungi gain, which can ride to live and breed in roots of plants, while tree roots or benefit from the nutrients absorbed by mycorrhizal plants may be distributed (in this case the experts are still conducting research as where the process of channeling this happens, whether eaten first by the fungus, then the results of edible plant secretions, or through channeled directly into the plant). In fact, when plants are infected by mycorrhizal fungi, then growth will be far different from those not infected with mycorrhizae.

Mycorrhizae are commonly sold on the market, is the result of proliferation of the fungus through the growth of mycorrhizal plants infected with certain media. The medium used can vary, there are normal soil, sand, zeolite and others. This type of media used will affect the production of mycorrhizae. Not all good media for growth of mycorrhizal, but based on observations of our experts, the media is best to zeolite. However, there is a particular zeolite is best for plant growth (this is what I sell) can hopefully be understood.

1. It's best mycorrhizal plants given during germination. However, be reckoned among the exit to the granting of mycorrhizal roots. Mycorrhiza was exposed to water, will break (spores) and then exit into hyphae (fine threads of yarn) to find the host (root crop), if within 2 weeks there is no host, then the estimated Sopra will die, so in vain of mycorrhizae. So if within 2 weeks of seed has not been issued a root, it will be in vain of mycorrhizae. To plant age 10 days not too late, I never gave mycorrhizal plants at the age of 6 months (teak), and still seen the difference with a non-mycorrhizal plants.
When you've already planted in the ground, then scraped (excavated) section close to the roots (up to meet some of its roots), then sprinkle mycorrhizal (+ 10 grams), then close again.

2. In addition to the main elements of Phosphorous consumed by mycorrhiza, there were also other elements that are consumed, such as N, K, and micro elements, so that infected mycorrhizal plants, will surely bear fruit sooner.

3. Giving the plant Jabon / Albasia, just as in other plants, which is given at the time in the hatchery, or upon transfer to a polybag or displacement field in a way sprinkled in the planting hole, then insert the seeds or seedlings will be planted.

4. Can also be combined with other fertilizers, provided:
- When the urea / SP / KCl, should be mixed at the time suddenly want an application (but this is not recommended.) No matter mixed with compost. The sooner you give the better mycorrhizal infection. Other fertilizers can catch up.
- Do not be mixed with the insecticide, herbicide or fungicide (either a liquid or a sow).

5. The amount of fertilizer given mycorrhizal dependent fungus content. If you use ours, about 10 grams of cropping (the content of our mycorrhizal about 10 spores / gram). But if the fertilizer you buy, the fungus only 1 spore / g, the amount of fertilizer should be added again. The bottom line, although only 1 spore, but if a spore is already infected, it is enough.

6. Mycorrhizae are generally sold with the medium, because fungus itself is very small (only seen with a microscope), it is not possible if sold mycorrhizae.

7. Price mycorrhiza of our USD. 8.00/kg (for Java, including postage, for the outer island of Java, we must first check the location). We can only suggest, if the your land is wide, then you should all order a 5 kg (normal packs of 5 kg, if less than 5 kg we have to repackage). For 1 plant need 5-10grams, then 1 kg can for 100-200 plants or 5 kg for the 1000-2000 crop. With mycorrhiza, the amount of fertilizer can be reduced 50% of the recommended dose (if fertilized).
